Eastbourne 12’s Welcome Ashford RFC in Celebration of the Rugby World Cup

Eastbourne RFC Under 12 side welcomed touring side Ashford to Park Avenue on Sunday, 24th September 2011 in celebration of the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Ashford RFC came to Eastbourne on Saturday, trained at the Park Avenue ground before going off to enjoy themselves on the beach. The majority stayed overnight and then came to the club on Sunday for a joint training session and a friendly two games of rugby. The atmosphere on Sunday was very good with coaches, players and parents all enjoying the fabulous sunshine coast weather. Eastbourne lost the first game 22-7 but went on to win the second game 19-0. After some well earned food and drink, Ashford went off home complimenting Eastbourne RFC on their hospitality and inviting us to a return fixture at their ground.
