In celebration of the rugby World Cup Eastbourne RFC painted the town Blue and Gold
On Saturday 17th September Eastbourne RFC were present in town positioned in the Arndale Centre to promote not just the Club but Rugby as a whole, especially as the World Cup progresses broadcasting to millions around the world.
A fantastic turn out throughout the club ranging from our very own under 7’s right the way through to our Senior Levels including our newly formed Eastbourne Ladies Team, Rugby really is a sport for for all…
Children smiled when greeted with a balloon and poster from the many Mini and Junior members of the Club and both Chairman (Fraser Brooks) and President (Bob Dunbavin) handing out Flyers to anyone who looked like potential players or may want to come and support Eastbourne’s only Rugby Club on Saturday or Sundays. Colin Bingham our Minis Chairman said ‘This has been a great experience for Eastbourne RFC meeting our community, potential players and just promoting the great game of Rugby which we will continue. We have already this morning taken details on new comers to the Club’.
As a Club we were overwhelmed with the amount of interest, support and just general chatter about sport, Rugby and how great it is to see so many enthusiastic boys and girls enjoying sport. As the morning closed with Balloons running low it was time to pack up and head back to the Club house to watch our Senior Sides battle it out on the field but wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Arndale Centre and their Staff in allowing us to be present on a Saturday and share the good work we at Eastbourne RFC are keen to promote.
Anyone interested in Rugby, then please contact Steve Snell (Rugby Development Officer), details available on our website: www.eastbournerugby.com.
