Eastbourne RFC vs. Combination Team of Burgess Hill and Bognor - Sunday, 2nd February 2025

Eastbourne RFC celebrated a historic moment as they fielded a full squad for the first time since the revival of the section in 2023. Facing a formidable combination team of Burgess Hill and Bognor, Eastbourne demonstrated their prowess in a highly competitive match.

The match kicked off with Eastbourne showcasing fierce determination. Key players Imogen Graham, Becks Tyler, Jasmine Lawes, and Ella Watson made their debuts, and their impact was felt immediately. The forward pack, led by Graham, Lawes, Tyler, and Faye Easton, provided a solid platform for the backs to capitalize on. Strong carries and relentless support work allowed Eastbourne to maintain momentum.

The backline, featuring Watson, Grace Seaton, Demi Norwood, and Chloe Seeley, executed excellent lines off the shoulder, making multiple line breaks into the opposition's 22-meter area. The new half-back combination of Emily Morse and Abi Martin ensured quick ball delivery and organized plays, giving the Eastbourne backs ample opportunities to strike.

In the centers, Molly Chaput and Kayla Power, recently selected for Hong Kong U19s, displayed remarkable footwork and work rate, breaking through the initial line of defense. A standout moment of the match occurred when Martin delivered an inside ball back to Chaput, catching the opposition off guard and opening up space, thanks to the efforts of Power, Jess Hawes, and Angel Howell.

The match was capped off with an impressive 80% conversion rate from Jas Moulding, who not only showcased her kicking skills but also crossed the try line twice. Eastbourne's dominance was evident as they cruised to a resounding victory.
